Shiva Chandra was the alias of trance composer Daniel Vernunft, a onetime aspiring jazz pianist who turned to electronic music in 1992 and released his debut album Spicy Moments four years later. Positiv followed in 1998, and the following year Shiva Chandra resurfaced with Lunaspice.
